Three things the cameras tell you before the first lift
1 · Is the top open to the sky?
Check Saulire first. If the summit at 2,738 m is above a flat sea of cloud, the upper bowls will be sunny while the village sits in fog — a classic Courchevel inversion, and a reason to ride the Saulire cable car early. If Saulire itself is white-out, visibility up top is poor and the tree-lined runs down to 1650 and Le Praz are the smarter call.
2 · Is it snowing in resort, and how busy?
La Croisette at village level shows fresh snow settling on the terraces and how many people are already at the main lift departure — your read on both conditions and crowds.
3 · Can you make the Méribel link?
Les Chenus looks over the traverse toward Méribel. In wind or flat light the Trois Vallées links close first up here, so a quick glance tells you whether a full three-valley day is realistic before you commit to the far side.
