The Piste Map

A reader's guide to the Courchevel piste map. 150 runs in the home valley alone — sorted here by colour, with the signature descents and the underrated alternatives flagged.

The official paper map is handed out at every lift station; the digital version lives on the Les 3 Vallées app. Use this page to know where to point yourself once the map is open.

By difficulty

  • Green — beginners

    ~30 runs

Pralong and Bellecôte zones (1850) and the wide nursery slope at 1650. Free magic-carpet lifts at both — ideal first day.

  • Blue — intermediate

    ~50 runs

Cospillot, Pyramides, Indiens. Long, well-groomed, and the easiest way to cross to Méribel via the Col de la Loze.

  • Red — advanced

    ~60 runs

The Combe de la Saulire is the resort's defining red — wide, sunlit, 800 m of vertical. Pair with the Suisses or Creux for a full morning.

  • Black — expert

    ~15 runs

Grand Couloir off the Saulire bubble (mogul field, narrow entry), Jean Blanc, M (in race-training season) and the Suisses Couloir.

  • Snow park & boardercross

    Plantrey

Two parks plus a boardercross above Courchevel Moriond (1650). Beginner and pro lines, kickers and a halfpipe in peak weeks.

Frequently asked

  • Where can I get a Courchevel piste map?

Free paper maps are handed out at every lift station and ticket office. The digital version is on the official Les 3 Vallées app for iOS and Android — with live lift status.

  • What is the best piste in Courchevel?

The Combe de la Saulire is the signature run: a wide, north-facing red of 800 m vertical, holding shade through morning. For experts, the Grand Couloir off the Saulire bubble is the iconic black.

  • Are there easy runs from the top of the Saulire?

Yes — the blue Pyramides leads gently back to 1850; from the Saulire mid-station the green Folyères returns to Le Praz at 1300.

  • Where are the quietest pistes in Courchevel?

The Le Praz side (1300) sees a fraction of the traffic. The Jardin Alpin and Pralong tend to clear by mid-morning. The Bouc Blanc area above La Tania is quietest of all.
