Courchevel-1850-Resort.com (“we”, “us”) is an independent editorial publication about the resort of Courchevel 1850, in the French Alps. This policy describes how we handle personal data for visitors to this website. We are the data controller for the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We are not the official tourist office and we do not sell or book travel.

What we collect

We only hold data you actively give us, plus the minimum our servers log to run the site:

• Newsletter — if you subscribe, we store the email address you provide and the language and page it came from, so we can send our editorial bulletin. Nothing more.
• Enquiry & contact forms — when you send a message through our contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you type, so an editor can reply.
• Server & security logs — like any website, our servers temporarily record technical data (IP address, browser type, pages requested) to deliver pages, prevent abuse and diagnose faults.

We do not ask you to create an account, and we never knowingly collect data from children under 16.

Cookies and advertising

We use a small number of cookies to keep the site working (for example, remembering your saved wishlist) and to understand which articles are useful. This site also carries advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

Why we may process your data

Our legal bases are: your consent (newsletter, advertising cookies); our legitimate interest in replying to your enquiry, keeping the site secure and measuring what our readers find useful; and, where advertising is concerned, consent obtained before personalised ads are served to visitors in the EEA and UK.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the site: our hosting provider, our email-delivery provider (used to send editorial notifications), and Google, for the advertising described above. Each processes data on our behalf under its own terms.

How long we keep it

Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe (every email carries an unsubscribe link). Enquiry messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your request and our records. Technical logs are rotated on a short cycle.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, write to us through our contact form and we will respond within the statutory timeframe. You also have the right to complain to your national data-protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
