Golf Club 1850

An 18-hole course carved into the mountainside above the village — playable from late June, with the most photographed seventh tee in French golf.

The course sits between 1,950 m and 2,050 m. Thin air adds 10–12% to your carry; bring a yardage book and one fewer club than instinct says. The clubhouse serves a proper lunch on a south-facing terrace and rents a small fleet of Titleist sets if you're flying light.

  • How does altitude affect play?

    Ball flight is roughly 10–12% longer at 2,000 m than at sea level. Most players club down one and trust it. Greens read truer than they look.

  • Is it walkable?

    Yes, but it's a real mountain walk — front nine descends, back nine climbs. Most members take electric trolleys; buggies are limited and need booking.

  • Can non-golfers visit?

    The clubhouse and restaurant are open to all. The terrace is one of the village's best summer lunch spots — no tee time required.
