When It Dumps

The Bad-Weather Playbook

A 1,850-metre resort with eight Palaces is well-equipped for white-outs. The playbook for the day the lifts go on hold.

The indoor itinerary

  • Aquamotion

    Indoor wellness · €25–€45

Europe's largest mountain aquatic complex: wave pool, lap pool, indoor surf simulator, climbing wall, kids' lagoon, hammam, sauna.

  • Half-day spa ritual

    All Palaces · €350–€800

Three to four hours of treatments and thermal access. Most Palace spas are open to non-residents — book the morning before.

  • Long Michelin lunch

    12:30 – 16:00

Le 1947, Le Sarkara, Baumanière 1850 and La Saulire all serve lunch menus 40–50% below dinner. The right shelter for a stormy afternoon.

  • Boutique sweep

Rue du Rocher · La Croisette

Hermès, Vuitton, Dior, Loro Piana, Brunello Cucinelli, Bernard Orcel, Chanel — all under 400 m, all heated.

  • Cinema Courchevel

    Two screens · Daily 17:00 & 20:30

The resort cinema runs French and English releases. Surprisingly busy on white-out evenings.

  • Wine tasting at Le Cellier

    Forum · €60–€120

Savoie and Burgundy verticals with a local sommelier. The thinking person's snowstorm refuge.
