Les Trois Vallées · 600 km

The Trois Vallées

The largest interconnected ski area in the world. From Courchevel 1850 you can cross to Méribel by mid-morning and reach the glacier above Val Thorens in time for lunch — all on a single lift pass.

Three valleys, eight resorts, 600 km of marked piste linked by 160 lifts. Almost all of it skiable in a single day if you start early and know the connections.

The valleys, mapped

  • Courchevel valley

    1850 · 1650 · 1550 · 1300 · La Tania

The most varied of the three valleys: wide blues off the Pralong, serious reds down the Saulire, and the Combe de la Saulire — one of the great pistes in the Alps.

  • Méribel valley

Méribel · Mottaret · Les Allues

The geographic centre of the Trois Vallées. From 1850, cross via the Col de la Loze or the Saulire. Door-to-door: 45 minutes to Méribel village by lift.

  • Belleville valley

    Val Thorens · Les Menuires · Saint-Martin

The highest valley. Val Thorens sits at 2,300 m and holds snow latest. From 1850 it is a 90-minute crossing via Méribel-Mottaret and the Mont de la Chambre.

Frequently asked

  • Can you ski from Courchevel to Val Thorens?

Yes. The crossing takes around 90 minutes one way via Méribel-Mottaret and the Mont de la Chambre lift. Plan to leave Val Thorens by 3 PM to make it home — the last linking lifts close around 4 PM.

  • Can you ski from Courchevel to Méribel?

Yes. Two main routes: via the Saulire (faster, ~40 minutes door-to-door) or via the Col de la Loze (more scenic, ~50 minutes). Both end on red pistes.

  • Can you ski from Courchevel to Val d'Isère?

Not directly — Val d'Isère is in a separate ski area (Espace Killy). The closest you can reach on the Trois Vallées pass is Orelle, on the far side of Val Thorens.

  • How long does it take to ski across the Trois Vallées?

From Courchevel 1850 to the top of the Cime Caron above Val Thorens: roughly 2 hours of skiing and lift time, weather permitting.

  • Is one lift pass enough for the whole area?

Yes — a single Trois Vallées pass covers all 160 lifts across all three valleys. The Courchevel-only pass is cheaper but only covers the home valley.
